All-Time Greatest Lefthanded Batters

Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Stan Musial, Willie McCovey, Reggie Jackson, George Brett, Tony Gwynn, Barry Bonds, and Ken Griffey Jr. are among the best lefthanded batters of all-time,

Lefthanders have always played a very prominent visible role in the game of baseball.  At the earliest age, baseball players are clearly defined and identified as being either lefthanded or righthanded, according to the hand they use to throw the ball.  The other hand, by default, becomes their catching hand, or glove hand.

Baseball players are also clearly defined as either lefthanded batters, or righthanded batters, by which side of home plate they stand when they swing the bat.  There are also many switch hitters in baseball, players who can bat either lefthanded or righthanded, depending on whether the pitcher is lefthanded or righthanded.
